Solar Power System - Solar Energy tips- Solar Power advice

I would like to share some information with you about solar power for your home and some tips and advice as to how you can install and use solar thermal energy. You can improve your home with solar power that will in time, be a good investment and one that lowers your electric use and expenses. Having a solar system in your home will put an increase on the value of your house and the other benefit is the move towards a greener and more Eco-friendly world.

Aside from being used as a source for electricity, solar power systems can heat your home and water too - inclusive of swimming pools or Jacuzzis, should you be lucky enough to have them! The power of the suns rays is transformed into electrical energy when you use photovoltaic panels in your home. Generally, the panels will be installed onto the roof of your home or even on the ground nearby.

Now, the investment is high at first and it could take some years before you start to see the benefit in terms of saving money - but it will be apparent long-term. Fortunately, some states in the US are now offering rebates for homeowners who want to use solar power in their homes. It is a good idea to seek out this information depending on which state you reside - it might not pay the full installation, but every little helps! Furthermore, there exists a federal tax incentive which can also bring the cost down. If you are really interested in solar power for your home then you should definitely take advantage of the aforementioned schemes and incentives.

Lets take a look now at some helpful tips and advice for installing a solar power system in your home:

*First, make the decision if the solar panel energy will be on or off the main companies power grid. I would advise to have it on the grid if possible as whether you become short or have too much power, you can either sell to the power company or purchase from them when you are low (such as dark winters etc).

*You should consider the angle of installation which will depend on where you are. Find out what the latitude is of your home/town and then add a further 15degrees onto it - then you have the ideal installation angle. Furthermore, if you live above the equator you should have the panels facing to the south for optimum sunlight.

*Remember that your solar thermal system will need to be maintained through cleaning it at least once a month. Take care when climbing up onto your roof - perhaps you would prefer to hire someone for the job. By keeping the panels clean you can ensure that they are working to their maximum capabilities.

*If you opt to have solar water heating then you will have to certification from the Solar Rating Certification Corporation.

*You will have to get an approximation on the size and amount of panels you will need to power your home. When making calculations, there will be a big difference between the solar power available in summer and winter months - make your calculations based on the winter months needs!

*Remember those federal tax reductions and state rebates!

When you successfully have your home solar power system up and running, you should be able to power all of your electrical appliances from the energy produced. This includes lighting, electrical kitchen appliances, TV, computers and so on. The investment is high in the beginning, but within a few years you will have added value on your home and saved costs on electricity usage.
